For the next 30 or so years, the world will continue to experience a major shift in demographics. Over a billion of Africa’s population will be youths. That means that there will be a large working-age group. This would eventually translate to a huge economic contribution to African countries but depending on what skills these young people possess.

Unfortunately the education in many African countries still lacks in skills development. Skills effective in helping young people meet the needs of this changing world.

There is need for a more ‘technical skills-based’ education system; and less of a ‘good English accent-based’ system of education.
